University professor at 27, anecdotes and dramas

First part of the gossip that will probably be developed later.

Being a university professor is not easy, but if you are as intense as I am, it is even less so. The passion is overwhelming to communicate the wonders of the natural world and how they converge with industrial design in a methodology that involves, yes, scientific research.

Complaints, dramas and reproaches were the daily life during the first partial because the dear Design students did not want to read about biology:

"What good is it if I'm going to design?"

"Miss, this is too much, I mean, I don't understand, it's not even relevant to learn about insects with the design, and yuck, have you seen their eyes yet?"

You will notice from the language that my students were part of the 1% of the national population, students from private universities with the top rankings: Tec de Monterrey, CEDIM School of Design and Universidad Marista.

In addition to having an 8-month-old baby who was still breastfeeding, I was finishing my Master of Science in Biomimicry remotely at Arizona State University and had to deal with more than 100 students complaining about the excellent quality of their curriculum.

Ha! What they didn't know was that my marriage was falling apart and sharing my passion for the natural world was keeping me afloat, so I invested all my patience and love into reconciling them with nature and making them fall in love with scientific research.

They ended up fascinated by the bugs, corals, fungi, bacteria and other organisms that they had to research for their final projects in Biodesign and Climate Change, the fashion students developed pieces focused on Biophilia during the pandemic and even combined Biophilia (it's not what you think, google it and see that it's a decent thing) with User-Centered Design.

It was divine, really, I'm not exaggerating, the student who threw batteries in the trash and literally hated me for teaching her scientific research ended up with one of the best investigations. Below are photos of my students.
