Xylaria hypoxylon is a fungus that decomposes organic matter and can look a bit scary. Its relative, Xylaria polymorpha, is called "dead man's fingers." For this reason, I decided to illustrate it in a kawaii, cute, pretty, tender, and any other synonym you can think of, so that people won't be afraid of it and can come closer to see its beauty.
