Earthstars are our favorite fungi, and we couldn't miss the opportunity to illustrate them in a 60s comic-style composition, as strange beings on a distant planet that humans once explored.

This species is Geastrum fornicatum, and when raindrops hit this little fungus it releases millions of spores into the air like little balloons when they burst.
